go, go, go! You turn toward the hallway, but step on a stapler.

KACHUNK.

You freeze.

“GROWWWWWWL!”

You sprint into the hallway and round a corner. You have a few steps on the monster, which means you probably have time to hide inside one of these offices until it gives up the chase. You try the first office you see. Locked. You try the second. Locked. There’s clanging behind you. You round a corner and almost crash into a door that’s so mangled that it wouldn’t open even if it were unlocked. You shine your flashlight at the ceiling as you run. Maybe you can swing into the ceiling tiles and . . .

“GROWL!”

This time, the sound is in front of you. You slam on the brakes just in time to avoid running into a second monster. When Monster #2 sees you, it sneers such an evil sneer that its face curls up like the Grinch.
